Who composed the musical score for WALL-E?

Thomas Newman composed the musical score for WALL-E.

Newman wrote and conducted the film’s instrumental music, shaping its blend of orchestral writing, electronic color, percussion, and playful mechanical sounds. His score helps give personality to robots that communicate largely through movement, beeps, and expressive sound design rather than conventional dialogue.

Newman also collaborated with Peter Gabriel on “Down to Earth,” the original song heard during the end credits. That song is separate from the film’s broader instrumental score, although Newman contributed to its composition and later incorporated elements of it into the movie’s music.
