Who co-founded the fashion brand Ivy Park with Beyoncé?

The story behind the answer

Philip Green co-founded the fashion brand Ivy Park with Beyoncé.

Ivy Park began as a joint venture between Beyoncé and Sir Philip Green, the former chairman of the Arcadia Group. The athletic clothing brand was announced in 2016 and named partly after Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy and partly after a park in Houston connected to her childhood.

The brand initially launched through a partnership with Topshop. In 2018, Beyoncé acquired full ownership of Ivy Park, ending the joint venture and making the label entirely controlled by her company, Parkwood Entertainment.

Ivy Park later entered a partnership with Adidas, which produced collaborative collections known as Ivy Park x Adidas. That partnership ended in 2023. A common mix-up is attributing Ivy Park’s creation to Jay-Z, Beyoncé’s husband; he has collaborated with her in music and business, but Philip Green was the original joint-venture partner.
