Beyoncé became the first artist to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 with her first six solo studio albums.
The sequence began with Dangerously in Love in 2003 and continued through B’Day, I Am... Sasha Fierce, 4, Beyoncé, and Lemonade. Each album entered the US Billboard 200 at number one, creating a chart record for a performer’s first six solo studio releases.
The achievement was especially notable because Beyoncé released Beyoncé in 2013 as a surprise visual album, with its arrival announced only after the record became available digitally. Lemonade extended the sequence in 2016 and combined an album release with a television visual presentation.
This record concerns debut positions on the Billboard 200, not the number of weeks each album spent at number one. It also refers to solo studio albums, so Destiny’s Child releases are not included in the count. Later chart achievements by other artists are separate records.
