Mamadou Sangaré assisted Keane Lewis-Potter’s opening goal for Brentford against Tottenham in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
The assist came in the 12th minute at Brentford’s home ground on 22 August 2026. Sangaré, making his Brentford debut after becoming the club’s record signing, immediately influenced the match by setting up Lewis-Potter.
Brentford eventually won 3–0. Vitaly Janelt scored before half-time, and Michael Kayode added the third after the interval. Sangaré’s debut performance earned strong praise and helped Brentford begin the campaign in convincing fashion.
Sangaré’s role is easy to confuse with that of the scorers because he was central to the first goal but did not finish it. Lewis-Potter opened the scoring, while Janelt and Kayode completed the result.
