Which Xbox game was the first title developed by Rare for Xbox 360?

The story behind the answer

Kameo: Elements of Power was the first game developed by Rare for Xbox 360.

Kameo: Elements of Power launched in November 2005 as part of the Xbox 360’s opening software lineup. Rare created the action-adventure game after Microsoft acquired the studio in 2002. Players control Kameo, an elf-like guardian who can transform into different creatures, each with distinct abilities.

The game had a long development history. It began as a Nintendo 64 project, moved toward the GameCube, and was later redesigned for Xbox and Xbox 360. That evolution explains why Kameo combines colorful character design with a large-scale fantasy adventure structure.

Perfect Dark Zero also launched near the Xbox 360’s debut and is often named first because it was Rare’s more prominent shooter. However, Kameo was the first Rare-developed Xbox 360 title listed in the launch lineup. Its visual effects were designed to showcase the new console’s hardware.
