The Xbox One initially launched in 13 markets in November 2013.
Microsoft released the Xbox One on November 22, 2013, in 13 markets: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The launch positioned the system as an entertainment-focused successor to the Xbox 360, while retaining Xbox Live and introducing new hardware and software features.
The console’s launch plans changed in some regions. Microsoft delayed the Xbox One’s release in several additional countries until 2014, partly because localization and certification work was not complete. That is why contemporary lists may distinguish the initial 13 markets from the broader eventual launch footprint.
This figure is also separate from sales totals and the number of countries where Xbox One was later available. The original launch model included a Kinect sensor in its package.
