Which Xbox console was the first to include a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray drive?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox One S was the first Xbox console to include a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray drive.

Microsoft released the Xbox One S in August 2016 as a slimmer revision of the original Xbox One. Alongside its smaller white chassis, the console added support for 4K video output, high-dynamic-range imaging, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. It also moved the power supply inside the console and introduced a redesigned wireless controller.

The Xbox One S could upscale games to 4K, but it was not designed to render most games natively at 4K. That distinction separates it from the more powerful Xbox One X, released in 2017. The Xbox Series X later included a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray drive as well, while the Xbox Series S was a digital-only console without a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, released in 2019, also lacked a disc drive, so it should not be confused with the standard Xbox One S.
