Which Xbox console launched alongside the Xbox Series X in November 2020?

The Xbox Series S launched alongside the Xbox Series X in November 2020.

Microsoft released both Xbox Series consoles on November 10, 2020. Xbox Series X was the flagship model, while Xbox Series S was a smaller, lower-priced, all-digital alternative designed for the same generation of games.

Series S has no optical disc drive and uses less powerful graphics hardware than Series X. Its target resolution is generally lower, although it supports modern features such as fast loading through its solid-state drive, Quick Resume, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing in supported games.

The names can be confusing because Microsoft had previously used “S” for revised Xbox 360 and Xbox One models. Xbox Series S is not simply a slim version of Series X; it is a distinct console with different performance, storage, and disc-drive specifications.
