Which Xbox console introduced the Xbox 360's ring-shaped power indicator?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox 360 introduced the ring-shaped power indicator around its front power button.

This feature, commonly called the Ring of Light, used four illuminated quadrants to show the console's power status and, in some cases, controller connection or hardware errors. It became one of the most recognizable visual details of the Xbox 360 design.

The indicator surrounded the circular power button on the original 2005 console and remained part of the system's visual language across later hardware revisions. A pattern of red lights could indicate a serious hardware fault, a problem popularly known as the Red Ring of Death.

The original Xbox used a separate illuminated logo rather than the Xbox 360's four-part ring. Later Xbox One hardware adopted a simpler illuminated power symbol instead of reproducing the ring design.
