Which Xbox 360 model replaced the original design in 2010?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox 360 S replaced the original Xbox 360 design in 2010. Microsoft introduced the redesigned model at E3 in June 2010, and it became known simply as the Xbox 360 S or Xbox 360 Slim.

The 360 S used a smaller, quieter chassis and integrated Wi-Fi, improvements that addressed several practical complaints about the first model. It also included a dedicated port for Kinect, Microsoft's motion-sensing accessory, and revised internal hardware designed to reduce heat-related reliability problems.

The later Xbox 360 E arrived in 2013 with an appearance closer to the Xbox One. It is therefore not the answer to a question about the 2010 redesign. “Xbox 360 Elite” referred to a higher-end configuration of the earlier design rather than the slimline successor itself.
