The villain Spyro must defeat in Spyro: Season of Ice is Grendor.

Grendor causes the central crisis by freezing fairies throughout the game’s four seasonal Fairy Realms. Spyro’s objective is to travel from realm to realm, release the imprisoned fairies and ultimately confront the monster responsible for the trouble.

The game requires Spyro to defeat Grendor twice. The first battle occurs after he clears the first two seasonal realms, while the second confrontation follows the remaining realms and serves as the final victory condition. This two-stage structure makes Grendor more than a brief mid-game boss.

Grendor is sometimes mixed up with Ripto, the recurring villain from Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, or with Red, the antagonist of Spyro: A Hero’s Tail. Ineptune is a character from A Hero’s Tail, not Season of Ice, and “Red” is also a separate Spyro villain. Grendor’s unusual design includes two heads, and the story ends with Zoe curing him of his extra head and headaches after his defeat.
