In Europe, what title was used for Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy?
Answer
Spyro Fusion
Answer
Spyro Fusion
In Europe, Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy was released under the title Spyro Fusion.
The 2004 Game Boy Advance game was developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Vivendi Universal Games. It is a crossover between Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, pairing Spyro with Crash as they investigate a scheme involving their recurring enemies, Ripto and Doctor Neo Cortex.
The regional title is easy to mix up because the North American name emphasizes the game’s connection to Cortex, while the European title highlights the crossover itself. The companion Crash game also received a regional name change: Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto’s Rampage became Crash Fusion in Europe and Australia.
Spyro Fusion is not the same game as Spyro 2: Season of Flame or Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs. It uses a side-scrolling presentation for Spyro’s sections rather than the traditional 3D style, and it includes minigames, collectible trading cards, and playable elements from both franchises. The crossover’s premise begins with Ripto and Cortex joining forces, before Crash and Spyro realize they have been manipulated.
