Which two consoles was Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly released for?
Answer
PlayStation 2 and GameCube
Answer
PlayStation 2 and GameCube
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly was released for PlayStation 2 and GameCube.
Published by Universal Interactive in 2002, Enter the Dragonfly was developed by Equinoxe Digital Entertainment and Check Six Studios. It followed Insomniac Games’ original PlayStation trilogy and became the first mainline Spyro game not developed by Insomniac. The game’s central plot involves Ripto disrupting a dragonfly ceremony and scattering the magical companions throughout the Dragon Realms.
The title is sometimes misremembered as a broader sixth-generation release because Universal discussed versions for additional platforms during development. The shipped console game, however, was released on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo’s GameCube—not PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox, or Nintendo 64.
Its structure resembles earlier 3D Spyro games: players explore open-ended realms, collect items, complete tasks, and earn abilities. Spyro can also use bubble breath to capture dragonflies. Enter the Dragonfly is particularly notable for its troubled development and numerous technical problems, including glitches, long loading times, and inconsistent collision detection, which contributed to its mixed-to-negative reception.
