Halo: Campaign Evolved is part of the Halo video game series.
The game is a modern remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, the 2001 Xbox title that introduced players to the Master Chief, the Covenant, and the mysterious Halo ringworld. Campaign Evolved revisits that foundational story with updated visuals, expanded gameplay systems, and additional content while preserving the original campaign’s central premise.
The Halo series began under Bungie and later continued under 343 Industries, which rebranded as Halo Studios in 2024. Its games commonly combine science-fiction storytelling with first-person shooting, vehicle combat, exploration, and multiplayer modes.
A common mix-up is confusing Halo with other Microsoft-owned or Xbox-associated series. Destiny was also developed by Bungie, but it is a separate science-fiction franchise. Marathon is another Bungie series, while Gears of War is a third-person shooter series with a different setting and gameplay style.
