Metallica used Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver for about a week during The Black Album sessions.

Most of the album was recorded at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles, where the main sessions began in October 1990. The Vancouver stop was therefore a smaller but documented part of the album's production history.
