Which US TV network originally aired Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Answer
Nickelodeon
Answer
Nickelodeon
The US television network that originally aired Avatar: The Last Airbender was Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon premiered the animated series on February 21, 2005, beginning Aang’s journey from the Southern Air Temple through the conflict with the Fire Nation. The show remained a Nickelodeon production and aired across three seasons, ending in 2008.
The series was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Nickelodeon. Its seasons were organized as Books, with each episode treated as a Chapter: Water, Earth, and Fire. The network’s audience helped the show reach children, teenagers, and adults, while its serialized storytelling gave it a broader following than many typical children’s cartoons.
The WB, Disney Channel, and Cartoon Network were not the original US network homes of the series. International broadcasters and later streaming services may differ, which can cause confusion, but the original US television broadcast was on Nickelodeon. The sequel, The Legend of Korra, also premiered on Nickelodeon in 2012.
