The production code for “The Tales of Ba Sing Se” is 215.
The episode is the 15th chapter of Book Two: Earth and the 35th episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender overall. Its production code, 215, identifies it within the show’s production order and corresponds to its second-season, fifteenth-episode placement.
Originally aired on September 29, 2006, the episode is structured as six short vignettes rather than one continuous adventure. Katara and Toph enjoy a day out, Aang helps create a zoo, Sokka joins a poetry club, Zuko goes on a date, Momo searches for Appa, and Iroh spends time helping people before honoring his late son, Lu Ten.
The number is easy to confuse with 214, the code for the preceding episode, “City of Walls and Secrets,” or 216, associated with the following production slot. It is also unrelated to the episode’s overall number, 35, or its season-and-chapter designation, Book Two, Chapter 15.
