Ark Encounter, the Noah’s Ark attraction that opened in 2016, is in Kentucky.
The attraction is located in Williamstown, Kentucky, in Grant County. It features a large timber-framed structure designed as a representation of the biblical ark, along with exhibits and themed displays based on a literal interpretation of the Genesis account.
Ark Encounter opened to the public on July 7, 2016. It was developed by Answers in Genesis, the organization also associated with the Creation Museum in nearby Petersburg, Kentucky.
The attraction is a modern religious and tourism project, not an archaeological discovery of the vessel described in Genesis. Its constructed ark should therefore be distinguished from claims about finding ancient remains on Mount Ararat or elsewhere.
