Which treasure do Nate, Chloe, and Elena seek in Uncharted 2?

In Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Nate, Chloe, and Elena seek the Cintamani Stone. The treasure is linked to the legendary Himalayan city of Shambhala, also widely associated with the name Shangri-La.

The adventure begins with Nathan Drake helping Harry Flynn and Chloe Frazer investigate the lost fleet of Marco Polo. A Mongolian oil lamp contains a map and a flammable blue resin that reveals the fleet carried the Cintamani Stone. The trail leads from Borneo to Tibet and eventually to Shambhala.

The game’s version of the stone is deliberately fictionalized. It turns out to be a huge piece of blue amber derived from the sap of an ancient Tree of Life. The sap grants extraordinary strength and longevity, but it also causes madness, explaining the danger surrounding the stone and the city’s guardians.

El Dorado is the treasure sought in the first Uncharted game, while the Tusk of Ganesh belongs to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The Amber Room is a real-world lost-art mystery, not the prize in Among Thieves.
