Mike Hill, Jordan Samuel, and Cliona Furey won Best Hair and Makeup for Frankenstein at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.

Their award recognized the film’s transformation work, which helped create its gothic atmosphere and distinguish the human characters from the Creature. Hair and makeup design can involve prosthetics, hairstyling, aging, wounds, and period-specific appearance, making it a collaborative craft category.

Frankenstein won four awards overall at the ceremony. Besides Best Hair and Makeup, it received prizes for Jacob Elordi’s supporting performance, Kate Hawley’s costume design, and the production-design team of Tamara Deverell and Shane Vieau.

The category was separate from costume design and production design. Ruth E. Carter was nominated for Sinners, while Kazu Hiro, Felix Fox, and Mia Neal were nominated for The Smashing Machine. Those names therefore belong to different nominated teams, not the winning one.
