Which Tesla model was the first to use the company’s standard CCS charging connector in Europe?

The story behind the answer

The Tesla Model 3 was the first Tesla model to use the company’s standard CCS charging connector in Europe.

European versions of the Model 3 adopted the Combined Charging System, commonly called CCS, for charging. This allowed the car to use Tesla Superchargers equipped for the European market as well as compatible third-party public charging stations. Earlier European Model S and Model X vehicles used Tesla’s proprietary Type 2-based connector and generally required an adapter for CCS charging.

The Model 3 was introduced as Tesla’s more affordable, higher-volume car. It began customer deliveries in the United States in 2017 and reached European markets in 2019. Its charging hardware reflected regional standards, so connector details differed between markets.

This question concerns European-market vehicles, not every Model 3 worldwide. Charging connectors vary by region, and North American Model 3 cars used a different Tesla connector standard during this period.
