Brighton & Hove Albion recorded a 4–0 home win over Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.

The match took place on Sunday 23 August 2026 at Brighton’s Falmer Stadium. It was Brighton’s first match of the league season and produced the biggest home victory of the opening round.

Fabian Hürzeler was Brighton’s manager, while Aston Villa were managed by Unai Emery. The result gave Brighton an emphatic start and left Villa without a goal in their first fixture.

The 4–0 scoreline was also recorded as the biggest home win in the season’s statistics at the time of the article’s update. Brighton were one of the established Premier League clubs in the 2026–27 field, while Aston Villa had qualified for the campaign through their position in the previous season’s competition. The result stood out among a weekend that also included two-goal wins for Hull City and Everton.
