Chelsea visited Fulham in the final match of the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The fixture was played on Monday 24 August 2026 at Craven Cottage, Fulham’s home ground beside the River Thames. It was the only opening-round match scheduled for Monday, following fixtures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Chelsea won the west London derby 3–2. The result gave Chelsea three points and made the final fixture one of the weekend’s most closely contested matches by scoreline.
The game was a local rivalry as well as a season opener. Fulham and Chelsea are both based in west London, but their stadiums are separate: Fulham play at Craven Cottage, while Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge. The match should not be mistaken for Everton versus Crystal Palace, another fixture that involved a London club but was played on Saturday.
