Hull City beat Manchester United 2–0 in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
The match was played at Hull’s MKM Stadium on Saturday 22 August 2026. It was Hull’s first Premier League match after returning to the top flight following a nine-year absence.
Semi Ajayi scored Hull’s opening goal in the 17th minute, and Nobel Mendy added a second before half-time. Both players later went off injured, but Hull held on for a landmark victory.
The result was especially notable because it was Hull’s first top-flight league win over Manchester United since 1974, when both clubs were competing in the old Second Division. It was also Hull’s first Premier League victory over United.
