Which Star Wars collectible card game was published by Decipher in 1995?

The story behind the answer

Decipher published the Star Wars Customizable Card Game in 1995.

The game allowed players to build individual decks from cards representing characters, locations, weapons, starships, effects and other elements of the Star Wars universe. Its play system modeled conflicts between the light and dark sides and encouraged players to customize decks rather than use an identical fixed set.

The abbreviation Star Wars CCG is widely used by collectors and players. It is different from Decipher’s later Young Jedi game and from the separate Star Wars Trading Card Game published by Wizards of the Coast.

Decipher’s game became a major part of 1990s Star Wars collecting. Expansion releases added material from different films and story settings, giving the product a long life beyond its initial 1995 launch.
