The MKM Stadium hosted Hull City’s 2–0 win over Manchester United on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Hull returned to the Premier League after winning promotion under manager Sergej Jakirovic, and their first top-flight match was a Saturday lunchtime home fixture. The Tigers produced one of the weekend’s biggest surprises by defeating Manchester United 2–0.
The MKM Stadium is Hull City’s home ground. It opened in 2002 and has also been known by the name KCOM Stadium. The stadium stands beside the River Humber and is used for football and rugby league.
This result was historically notable for Hull because it marked their return to the top division after a long absence. For Manchester United, it was their fourth opening-weekend defeat in seven seasons. The match is easy to confuse with a fixture at Old Trafford, but Manchester United were the visitors in Hull.
