Krafton, the South Korean publisher behind the PUBG franchise, partnered with Pocketpair on a mobile version of Palworld. The agreement was announced in October 2024 and involved licensing the Palworld intellectual property for mobile development.
Krafton assigned development to PUBG Studios, the internal team associated with PUBG: Battlegrounds. The partnership was intended to adapt Palworld’s survival, exploration, crafting, and creature-collecting concepts for phones and tablets rather than simply porting the existing PC and console release.
This deal is easy to confuse with Palworld Entertainment, the separate 2024 joint venture involving Pocketpair, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), and Aniplex. It is also distinct from other later mobile projects using the Palworld license. For this specific mobile-version partnership, Krafton is the canonical answer.
