Which song won Blue Ivy Carter a Grammy Award in 2021?

“Brown Skin Girl” won Blue Ivy Carter a Grammy Award in 2021.

The song appears on The Lion King: The Gift, Beyoncé’s 2019 companion album to the film The Lion King. Beyoncé recorded it with Blue Ivy Carter, Wizkid, and Saint Jhn. Its lyrics and video celebrate Black girls and women, emphasizing beauty, identity, and representation.

At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021, “Brown Skin Girl” won Best Music Video. Blue Ivy was credited as a featured artist and became one of the youngest Grammy winners in history. The award recognized the video rather than giving her a separate solo recording category.

The song is sometimes confused with “Black Parade,” another Beyoncé release that won a Grammy at the same ceremony. “Brown Skin Girl” belongs to The Lion King: The Gift, while “Black Parade” was released separately in 2020 and received the award for Best R&B Performance.
