Which skyscraper in Warsaw was completed in 2022 and became the European Union’s tallest building by architectural height?

The story behind the answer

Varso Tower is the Warsaw skyscraper completed in 2022 that became the European Union’s tallest building by architectural height.

The tower forms part of the Varso Place mixed-use complex near Warsaw Central railway station. Foster + Partners designed the project, while the Polish developer HB Reavis commissioned its construction.

Its architectural height is 310 metres, including a spire. That measurement placed it above Frankfurt’s Commerzbank Tower and made it taller than other skyscrapers within the European Union at the time of completion.

Varso Tower is distinct from Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science, a much older landmark completed in 1955. The Palace remains one of the city’s most recognizable buildings but is not the tallest.
