Jay-Z joined Beyoncé on her 2003 single “Crazy in Love.”
The song was released as the lead single from Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. Its prominent horn sample came from the Chi-Lites’ 1970 recording “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So),” and the production was built by Rich Harrison and Beyoncé.
Jay-Z contributed a rap verse, making the track a collaboration between two artists who later married in 2008. “Crazy in Love” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of Beyoncé’s signature songs.
The song’s music video featured choreography and styling that helped define Beyoncé’s early solo image. It won multiple honors, including two Grammy Awards in 2004: Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
