Shakira collaborated with Beyoncé on the 2007 hit “Beautiful Liar.”
The song appeared on the deluxe edition of Beyoncé’s album B’Day and on the international edition of Shakira’s album Oral Fixation, Vol. 2. It was written by a large songwriting team and produced by Beyoncé, Stargate, and others.
“Beautiful Liar” is a bilingual pop and R&B collaboration whose video emphasized mirrored choreography and the visual resemblance between the two performers. The pairing brought together two globally successful singers from different musical markets and attracted substantial international attention.
The song’s title refers to a deceptive romantic figure, but the collaboration itself is straightforward: Beyoncé and Shakira share the vocal performance. It is distinct from Beyoncé’s collaborations with Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, or Megan Thee Stallion.
