Jay-Z is the featured artist on Beyoncé’s 2003 hit “Crazy in Love.”
The song was written by Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rich Harrison, and Eugene Record, with production by Rich Harrison and Beyoncé. Its distinctive horn hook samples the Chi-Lites’ 1970 song “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So),” giving the track a recognizable retro-soul foundation.
“Crazy in Love” became the lead single from Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks in the United States and also reached number one in the United Kingdom and several other countries.
The collaboration was especially notable because Beyoncé and Jay-Z were already prominent artists who later became a long-running musical partnership. They subsequently released several joint songs, including “03 Bonnie & Clyde,” “Drunk in Love,” and “Apeshit.”
