Which record label released Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love?
Answer
Columbia Records
Answer
Columbia Records
Columbia Records released Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love.
Dangerously in Love was released in June 2003 while Beyoncé was still a member of Destiny’s Child. Columbia Records issued the album, and it marked her formal transition from group success to a major solo career. The album’s title came from a Destiny’s Child song of the same name.
The record includes “Crazy in Love,” “Baby Boy,” “Me, Myself and I,” and “Naughty Girl.” It combines contemporary R&B with pop, hip-hop, and soul influences, and it features guest appearances including Jay-Z and Sean Paul.
Columbia is a Sony Music label and had already been associated with Destiny’s Child. This fact can be confused with Beyoncé’s later label arrangements, including Parkwood Entertainment, which she founded as a management and entertainment company rather than the original label that released Dangerously in Love.
