Hull City won 2–0 against Manchester United during the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend. The victory came at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
Hull scored once in each half through Semi Ajayi and Nobel Mendy. The result gave the Tigers their first top-flight win over Manchester United and made their return to the Premier League an immediate success.
Hull had returned to England’s top division after a nine-year absence. The club was one of three teams promoted from the Championship, alongside Coventry City and Ipswich Town.
The match was also significant for Manchester United, who suffered an opening-weekend defeat to a promoted club for the first time in the league’s Matchweek 1 history. Marcus Rashford appeared as a second-half substitute, but United could not recover.
