Which Power Rangers season introduced the concept of 'Wild Zords'?

The story behind the answer

Power Rangers: Wild Force introduced the concept of “Wild Zords.” The ninth Power Rangers television season, Wild Force premiered in 2002 and centered its equipment and mythology on animal-themed machines called Wild Zords.

The story begins in Animaria, a lost world represented by the floating Animarium, where Princess Shayla recruits five Rangers to fight the Orgs. Their Animal Crystals summon the Lion, Bison, Eagle, Shark, and Tiger Wild Zords. These machines combine into the Wild Force Megazord, while additional animal Zords provide alternate combinations and specialized abilities.

A common mix-up is confusing Wild Zords with the animal-based Zords from earlier or later seasons. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers used dinosaur-themed Dinozords, while Power Rangers: Jungle Fury used animal spirits and animal-themed technology. Wild Force is the season specifically identified with the Wild Zord terminology and its broad collection of animal machines.

Wild Force was based on the Japanese Super Sentai series Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger and served as the franchise’s tenth-anniversary season.
