What is the name of the actress who played the original Yellow Ranger?

The actress who played the original Yellow Ranger was Thuy Trang, who portrayed Trini Kwan in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Trang was part of the show's original five-member team when the series premiered in 1993. Trini was the Yellow Ranger, whose dinosaur-themed power was the Sabertooth Tiger. Trang appeared throughout the first season and into the second before leaving the series in 1994.

The character and performer are sometimes confused with later Yellow Rangers, including Karan Ashley's Aisha Campbell and Nakia Burrise's Tanya Sloan. Amy Jo Johnson, another original cast member, played Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger—not Trini. The Yellow Ranger's helmeted action footage also came from the Japanese source series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, so the suit performer and the American actress were not always the same person.

Trang later appeared in the film The Crow: City of Angels. She died in a car crash in 2001, aged 27, but remains closely associated with the original Mighty Morphin team.
