Which Power Rangers season introduced the 'Battlizer' upgrade?

The story behind the answer

The Power Rangers season that introduced the “Battlizer” upgrade was Power Rangers: In Space. The upgrade belongs to Andros, the Red Space Ranger, and first appears during the show’s 1998 run as a powerful enhancement to his normal Ranger abilities.

Andros obtains the Battlizer with help from Sylvie in the episode “Mission to Secret City.” The device initially functions as a wrist-mounted power enhancer, but it can also activate the Red Battlized Ranger form. In that armored mode, Andros gains heavier protection, enhanced strength, flight capability, and missile-firing equipment, giving the season a distinctive Red Ranger super-form.

The Battlizer was an American-created addition rather than a direct adaptation of the Japanese footage from Denji Sentai Megaranger. It also helped establish a recurring franchise tradition: later seasons often gave their Red Rangers a special battle armor or enhanced combat mode. The upgrade should not be confused with ordinary team weapons, morphers, or the season’s combined Megazords; it is an individual power-up designed around one Ranger.
