Which PlayStation 3 model included a 20GB hard disk at launch?

The story behind the answer

The PlayStation 3 launch lineup included a model with a 20 GB hard disk.

Sony introduced two principal PlayStation 3 configurations in Japan and North America: a lower-priced 20 GB version and a higher-priced 60 GB version. The 20 GB model offered less storage and omitted some features found on the 60 GB configuration, including built-in Wi-Fi and flash-memory card slots.

Storage capacity is often confused with the model’s advertised system memory. PlayStation 3 consoles generally had 256 MB of XDR main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory; those figures were separate from the hard disk capacity.

The PlayStation 3 launched in Japan on November 11, 2006, and in North America on November 17, 2006. Later revisions changed capacities, physical design and feature combinations.
