Which player won the 2007 PDC UK Open darts tournament?

The story behind the answer

Raymond van Barneveld won the 2007 PDC UK Open darts tournament.

The 2007 UK Open final was played at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England. Van Barneveld defeated Vincent van der Voort 11–4 in the final to claim the title during his first full season as a PDC player.

The UK Open is known for its unusual qualifying structure. Players enter through regional qualifying events and stages, and the tournament is often called the “FA Cup of darts” because seeded players and qualifiers can meet early in an open draw.

Van Barneveld’s victory was part of a remarkable 2007 campaign. Earlier that year, he had won the PDC World Darts Championship by defeating Phil Taylor in the final. The UK Open title therefore added another major trophy to his breakthrough PDC season.
