Cole Palmer was voted Player of the Matchweek after Chelsea’s 3–2 win over Fulham in 2026–27 Premier League Matchweek 1.
Palmer played a decisive role in Chelsea’s west London derby victory at Craven Cottage. He assisted João Pedro for Chelsea’s early opener and then scored the goal that proved to be the winner at the start of the second half.
The fan vote gave Palmer 40 percent of the total. Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard finished second with 22 percent, while the other nominees included Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki and Brighton’s Jack Hinshelwood.
Chelsea’s victory came in the final match of the opening round, played on Monday 24 August. The result completed a matchweek that began with Arsenal’s Friday win over Coventry City and included nine other fixtures.
