João Pedro was named Premier League Player of the Month after the 2026–27 opening month.
The Chelsea forward received the award for August 2026, the month that included the season’s opening weekend from 21 to 24 August. His recognition came during Chelsea’s 3–2 away victory over Fulham in the final match of the opening round.
The award is separate from the Manager of the Month prize, which went to Hull City manager Sergej Jakirović. It is also separate from the Goal of the Month award, won by Newcastle United’s Anthony Elanga.
João Pedro was listed among the early Premier League scorers for Chelsea. The award therefore relates to his overall August performances, not simply one specific goal or the result of a single opening-weekend match.
