Which player scored twice for Brighton in the first 31 minutes against Aston Villa?

Jack Hinshelwood scored twice for Brighton in the first 31 minutes against Aston Villa.

Hinshelwood’s double helped Brighton & Hove Albion race into a 4–0 lead during their 2026–27 Premier League opener. The goals arrived within 79 seconds of each other, making the sequence one of the match’s defining moments.

Brighton’s other first-half goals came from Maxim De Cuyper and an own goal by Aston Villa defender Victor Lindelöf. The visitors were also reduced to ten men after João Gomes received a red card before half-time.

Hinshelwood’s performance continued his momentum from the previous season, when he had scored three times in Brighton’s final five matches. His two-goal burst was a particularly notable opening-day contribution because Brighton completed the match with a 4–0 victory.
