The Nigerian defender opened the scoring at MKM Stadium during Hull’s first Premier League match after a nine-year absence from the top flight. His goal came in the first half and gave the newly promoted Tigers an early advantage against one of England’s most decorated clubs.
Hull doubled the lead before half-time through Nobel Mendy, a club-record signing who scored on his debut. The two goals secured Hull’s first top-flight victory over Manchester United and made the result one of the weekend’s biggest surprises.
