Cole Palmer scored Chelsea’s winning goal against Fulham in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
Chelsea defeated Fulham 3–2 at Craven Cottage on Monday, 24 August 2026. Palmer scored Chelsea’s third goal four minutes into the second half, restoring the visitors’ two-goal advantage after Morgan Rogers had made it 2–1 before the interval.
Palmer also assisted João Pedro for Chelsea’s opening goal after just 31 seconds. His goal and assist made him the central attacking figure in Chelsea’s victory, and supporters subsequently voted him the Premier League’s Player of the Matchweek.
Fulham scored through Josh King and Gonzalo García, but those goals were not enough to earn a point. The result began Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea tenure with a win and ended a five-goal west London derby at Craven Cottage.
