Brentford opened their campaign with a 3–0 home victory over Tottenham Hotspur on 22 August 2026. Lewis-Potter put the Bees ahead in the 12th minute after Mamadou Sangaré created the chance on his Brentford debut.

Vitaly Janelt added Brentford’s second goal before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the scoring after the interval. Brentford’s attacking performance gave new head coach Keith Andrews an excellent competitive start.
