Kai Havertz scored Arsenal’s opening goal of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
Havertz put Arsenal ahead against Coventry City in the 15th minute of the opening match at Emirates Stadium on 21 August 2026. Arsenal ultimately won 3–0, with Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard also scoring.
The goal came in the first match of the entire Premier League campaign, giving Havertz the distinction of scoring the season’s first goal. Riccardo Calafiori assisted the opener, which makes his name another possible source of confusion even though he did not score.
The three Arsenal goals came from three different players. Havertz scored first, Saka doubled the lead before half-time and Ødegaard completed the result after the interval. That order is important because the match report’s final score alone does not identify who opened the scoring.
