At the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, Miles Caton won Best Young Actor/Actress for Sinners.
Caton portrayed Samuel “Sammie” Moore in Ryan Coogler’s period supernatural horror film Sinners. The Critics Choice category recognizes a young performer across film, rather than dividing the award into separate male and female acting prizes.
The other nominees were Everett Blunck for The Plague, Cary Christopher for Weapons, Shannon Mahina Gorman for Rental Family, Jacobi Jupe for Hamnet, and Nina Ye for Left-Handed Girl. Caton’s win added to Sinners’ strong showing at the ceremony.
Sinners led the film nominations with 17, the largest total of the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. The movie also won Best Original Screenplay, Best Score, and Best Casting and Ensemble. Caton’s character, Sammie, is a young musician whose story is central to the film’s supernatural conflict.
