Which peninsula is also known as Anatolia or Asia Minor?

The story behind the answer

The Anatolian Peninsula, also known as Asia Minor, forms most of the Asian part of modern Turkey.

It is bounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The Bosporus, Sea of Marmara, and Dardanelles separate it from Europe and connect the Black Sea with the Mediterranean system. In modern geographic usage, Anatolia generally refers to the peninsula west of the Euphrates River.

The region has hosted major civilizations including the Hittites, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and Seljuks. Constantinople, now Istanbul, stands at the peninsula's northwestern gateway, although the city occupies territory on both sides of the Bosporus. The term Asia Minor is common in historical writing, while Anatolia is the usual modern geographic and political term. Turkey's capital, Ankara, lies in the peninsula's central interior.
