Which Paralympic sport uses a court divided by a raised net and is played while seated?

The story behind the answer

Sitting volleyball is the Paralympic sport played while seated on a court divided by a raised net.

Players remain in contact with the floor with part of the torso between the shoulders and the buttocks whenever they play the ball. The game uses a smaller court and lower net than standing volleyball, creating a fast contest built around movement, positioning and controlled passing.

Teams may include athletes with different eligible impairments. In Paralympic competition, a team fields six players, and the sport uses a classification system that distinguishes athletes with more significant impairments from those with less significant impairments.

Sitting volleyball is not the same as wheelchair volleyball or beach sitting volleyball. It became a Paralympic sport at the 1980 Arnhem Games. The sport developed from rehabilitation and adapted volleyball activities before becoming an established international competition.
