Which Palworld faction is named as a defense force?

The Palworld faction named as a defense force is the Palpagos Islands Defense Force. Usually abbreviated PIDF, it is a militarized law-enforcement organization led by Marcus Dryden.

The PIDF’s stated role is maintaining order across the Palpagos Islands, but the group also functions as an antagonistic force. Its troops patrol settlements and desert regions, respond to criminal activity, and can pursue players who gain Wanted status. Unlike most faction NPCs, PIDF members are generally not hostile to players unless attacked or provoked.

The faction’s name distinguishes it from Palworld’s more ideological groups. The Free Pal Alliance advocates Pal liberation, the Rayne Syndicate pursues criminal profit, and the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre follow a religious theme. Marcus Dryden’s tower is found in the Desiccated Dunes, where the player confronts the PIDF leader.
